From late 2011 until late 2012, we designed at the lab formulas for nutraceutical food
with great taste and beneficial properties for people.
In January of 2013, the first formulas developed were submitted as candidates for international patents before WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization), together with their possible applications in different types of food.
We used the High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) method, in order to detect molecules that are only sweet and to isolate those that were not sweet. We researched different types of sweeteners of natural origin, such as Stevia, Glycyrrhizin, Thaumatin and Agave, among others.
Aztevia was created as a response to the need for food that provides more than calories and good taste to people: food that provide an added value, that provides health, that is nutraceutical and functional.
At the beginning of 2011, we implemented a scientific research laboratory in Peru in order to develop sweeteners of a natural origin, low in calories and which have nutraceutical properties.
